Just one week from now we will have met our son and be signing the paperwork in Kirov! I have been dreaming every night about him and how it will all be........how big he will be........his eyes.......how he will react to us. I pray that it all goes as planned but as many of my adoptive parent friends have warned me, it doesn't always happen that way. Almost all have very happy endings but sometimes the road getting there is a little rough!
We spent several hours yesterday working on packing and taking everything out of its packaging. Tonight we picked up some last minute things to hopefully to get us through the trip. We are very fortunate to have had so many people help us with the planning of all of this. We will be flying from Atlanta to Moscow with one of the families in our group which is wonderful! We have a great group of five couples and we have all spoken so it should be fun getting to meet each other and share in this journey to meet our children.
Tomorrow Brynn and her team compete in mock trials at the courthouse against other high schools. This is her second year and I am one of the coaches. It is rewarding for both of us. She just loves it, good practice for the attorney-to-be. She has college and law school all planned out already. I love that she aims high!
Just three more days here at home and four nights in our own bed and we are off on the journey of a lifetime! I should have posted a before picture of the nursery which is travel central. Now that we have packed suitcases it is much better in there, it was a disaster site!
Going to try and get a good nights sleep. Hoping the wine and Tylenol PM help me out. Pretty sad when at 3:45 a.m. you are ready to give up on sleep. But all will be well in a month when I am getting up at 3:45 with a crying baby!

I can only shake my head at the saying "Get your sleep in while you still can". From a mommy-to-be, I know that's just not possible with all the worrying and organizing going on. I hope you're able to get in a few winks of shut-eye before you leave.
