We arrived in to Moscow around noon on Saturday. We had flown from Atlanta to Moscow with Susan and Jason, one of the couple adopting from Kirov. We had a nice flight, slept part of the way and arrived in Moscow fairly well rested. We checked in to our hotel, the Marriott Coutyard (nice), cleaned up and headed out in the late afternoon to check out Moscow. We knew at that point we should find coats and things for the baby that were in the lost piece of luggage. Don had a map from the hotel with 3 places we wanted to go marked. Well we got turned around and wandered the streets for a few hours and never bought anything. Honestly, we both we intimidated and were not brave enough to try shopping. Silly now that I think back!
It gets dark fairly early so we went back to the hotel for dinner and early bed. I am not sure what happened to us that we weren't brave enough. I guess our lack of world travel and the language all seemed scary to us. Also, we are not big city people and the number of people on the street, tall buildings and everything being in Russian was a bit overwhelming! Next trip we will do much better!
