To say the least it has been a whirlwind of a week! But no complaints as it is worth every second of it. Hard to explain the excitement, anxiety, joy and frustration we have experienced. We arrived in Kirov on Monday morning after riding the train overnight. The train was pretty nice and it was an experience. Six families traveled together and all became fast friends, we had all talked before except one family who was our surprise 6th couple. All fantastic people and couldn't have asked for a greater bunch of people to spend the time with. We really have made lifelong friends with everyone. This experience bonds people, we couldn't have made it through the last 3 days without them!
We spent about 6 hours each day with Oliver. It was precious time and he only had tears the first time he was handed to me and then smiled each time he was brought to me (twice each day). He was able to fall asleep on both Don and I's chests. He is just full of happiness and eats up all of our attention. He is crawling all over the place and will be in to everything when he gets home. We have so much baby proofing to do when we get home! He is working on his first tooth, I think it will have cut through when we see him on the 20th, just 2 weeks away! He loves all bright colors and is just too darn cute. He laughs at Don's Donald Duck voice and shakes his head at him every time!
Our hotel was the pits! I cannot explain it but it is a Russian hotel not a Western hotel.
